Growing up in Tampa, Florida my whole life, you could say I’m a city girl. I love the East Coast, hip hop, the beach and all of the swamplands in between. I love fashion and definitely consider myself to be well versed in the art of buying and wearing too many heels. You could say that after moving across the country to Ashland, Oregon, I found myself a little culture shocked. The air was dry, the mountains were breathtaking and the weed was nestled into every crevice of the valley. I went from being an online English tutor and shoe retail associate at Aldo to working for an edible company and becoming a part of a flourishing weed garden. Who was I! Entering the cannabis industry was not where I thought I would see myself two years after graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Communications and a minor in English.
After being a part of a garden I had the opportunity to be a part of a huge harvest. The amount of hard work and effort that it takes to pull off a successful harvest is insane. I decided that while I loved being a part of a grow, I really wanted to give the cannabis industry more of my skills.
Best Bud Bags has been the best thing that has ever happened to me, no pun intended. As the operations manager of a custom packaging and design company, not only am I the front of customer relations, I am in charge of all production and daily functions in the office. It feels amazing to be a part of a team that creates badass shit for everyone in the industry. As cannabis moves further into the retail zone, the market is going to need more and more attractive design and packaging work. I’ve traded selling shoes for selling design work and sick bags/boxes and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Cannabis has always been a part of my life. I loved to burn with my friends and smoke solo before going on long runs or just watching movies at home. Now it’s become a much greater part of my life in ways I never thought it would. I’m excited for the future that has yet to come and even more excited to continue building my career in the fastest and most exciting industry.

What’s it like to be a woman in the industry?
Sometimes it’s tough. In my opinion, this industry is not exempt from the issues women face daily in careers across all industries. We still have to somewhat prove ourselves to get the same respect that men seem to get off rip.
At the same time, it’s amazing to be in cannabis because the rules haven’t been established yet. Since everyone is constantly learning and having to adapt to the infinite shifts in regulation, it’s a pretty fair playing field. It’s also an opportunity for us women to create a niche within the industry that no one even knew existed, but we also have the opportunity to dominate any part of the industry we find an interest in!
I find myself truly fulfilled and more ambitious than ever as a woman in the cannabis industry. Not to mention, I am truly inspired everyday by the incredible ladies I’ve had the pleasure of meeting on and off the farm!
Where do you see the cannabis industry in 5 years?
Hopefully legal across all states. I see this being an explosive retail space that will end up touching more industries than even imagined. This is the modern day gold rush and it’s just getting started.
Indica or sativa?
Oooh, this is a tough one. Sativa for the daytime/before steppin’ out for the evening, indica for a night in with a pint of Halo Top. I have to say though, I absolutely love CBD on the regular. I’ve always been an avid THC gal, but since having access to CBD products after moving to Oregon, I find myself really appreciating the medicinal effects.

Throw me some old school Outkast, a Clams Casino mix, or You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine by Lou Rawls for fun haha
