Know Your Cannabinoids

Part of Ladies of Paradise mission is not only to empower women to feel confident and bold about themselves and their cannabis use but also to help educate women so that we may all stand together to shatter these stigmas.

So we took some time to put together an intro to cannabinoids.

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are the chemical compounds found in cannabis that react with our endocannabinoid system. Each cannabinoid has unique traits and different effects. The most commonly known cannabinoid is THC, tetrahydrocannabinol, the one that gets you high. There are a lot of other cannabinoids, however, and they all do wonderful things for our bodies! It’s important that we embrace the whole plant and take in all the benefits that it has to offer.

While most strains that are on the current market are THC heavy, there are more and more CBD options popping up. I can only hope to see cannabis breeders strive to grow for other cannabinoids and this industry branch out to help a wider group of people.

So now the fun part, what are some of the cannabinoids out there and what do they do?

As you can see, there is a lot more to cannabis than just THC. Cannabis isn’t just one thing, it is a combination of a plethora of little things that all work together to create the entourage effect. The more I learn about cannabis and get to work with it, the more I realize cannabis truly is a miraculous plant.
